Olympic Park – Alternate Leachate Connection to Sewer 

Scope of Works: 

  • Construction of 260m2 slab including tank slabs, screw piles (to manage tank load on landfill environment) and extensive steel reinforcement. Construction of bund around slab up to 1m to contain any spills and overflow during rain events.
  • Construction of over 2km of pipelines including crossing bridges, culverts, roads. Combination of trenching, underboring (through high traffic areas i.e. Bicentennial Park) and clipping to fixed infrastructure (bridge/culvert).
  • Sewer connection into middle lane of Australia Avenue adjacent to DFO. Sydney Water Major Works requirement.
  • Construction of large concrete structures and above ground stainless steel tanks.
  • Installation of pump stations (above ground with positive displacement pumps and below ground with submersible pumps).
  • Installation of NH4, LEL, DO, EC sensors. NOTE: Prime Water have since been successful in obtaining the contract to manage all sensor calibrations for the next 5 years.
  • Integration with existing Leachate management system and conscious management with incumbent operations team to ensure that all systems remained operational over the 12 month construction period.
  • Further to the construction, testing and commissioning of the system and the recent success with the calibration contract, Prime Water have also been asked to operate the new section of the plant for the next 12 months as a trial for consideration on a longer term and wider ranging contract with SOPA.
